So, take admission and make your future today. ------------------------------ CIRCULAR FOR ALL INDIA ONLINE APTITUDE TEST (AIOAT): 2022 For Admission to RCI approved Diploma Level Courses in the field of Special Education and Disability Rehabilitation for the Academic Session: 2022-23. National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation (NBER) an adjunct body of Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) invites online applications from the eligible candidates for admission to its various Diploma Level Courses in Special Education and Disability Rehabilitation offered by RCI’s approved Institutions/Universities Departments across the country. Admission to the Diploma Level Courses will be made on the basis of the results of All India Online Aptitude Test: 2022 only. Eligibility conditions for admission: i. Special Education Courses: Minimum qualification for admission is successful completion of 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent from a recognized Board of Education with minimum 50% marks aggregate. ii. Disability Rehabilitation Courses (DHLS, DPO, DRT & D.H.A.R.E.M.T.): 10+2 with PCM/PCB or its equivalent examination from a recognized Central/State Board of Education with minimum 50% marks aggregate. iii. Sign Language (DTISL Course): Only for deaf candidates, 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Central/State Board of Education with minimum 45% marks aggregate, Certificate of Disability (Deaf), proficient receptive and productive skills in ISL. iv. Appearing candidates at 10+2 level examination may also apply; provided they obtain minimum 50% marks at 10+2 exam otherwise their candidature shall be rejected. However, relaxation of marks at 10+2 level for candidates belonging to reserved category for admission to Diploma level courses will be applicable as per the policy of the concerned Central/UT’s, State Govt. Examination Fee: Rs. 500/- for General and OBC and Rs. 350/- for SC, ST, PwD & EWS candidates. Interested candidates are advised to visit Council’s website www.rehabcouncil.nic.in for detailed information regarding schedule, list of diploma level courses, duration, eligibility, syllabus, course fee, State-wise list of Training institutes, admission guidelines, application fee. This issue with the approval of competent authority of RCI. *** Placement after completion of this training course **** 1- Block Resource Person of different Blocks of the State. 2- Early Interventionist cum Special Educator in all District medical head quarters. 3- Special Educator in inclusive setting in general schools. 4- Special Educator in Special Schools of State and Central Govt. 5 - Special Educator in Kendriya Vidyalaya of Gov. of India.

  SAP Therapeutic Rehabilitation Centre

SAP is running Therapeutic Rehabilitation Centre in its own campus since 15th August, 2014. This is specially meant for rehabilitation of disabled children & persons through practicing physiotherapy & occupational therapy. The Centre is providing Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapeutic services to the disabled children & persons by the support of Department of SSEPD, Govt. of Odisha under the scheme: “Therapeutic & Rehabilitative Services for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities” since 1ST April, 2017. Dr. Smrutiranjan Behera, Physiotherapist & Dr. Sambit Shubhankar Das, Physiotherapist are providing Therapeutic services in this centre. The Physiotherapists visit the centre for the treatment of disabled children & persons and advises the patients to do physiotherapy as per the diseases.

  Promotion of Culture and Sports

Cultural Meets of different villages are arranged every year for the sake of promotion of culture. Drama competition was arranged at Binjharpur block this year where people from different villages performed 4 nos. of Dramas which covered different issues of social, cultural & religious importance and promoted the impact & importance of universal brotherhood, harmony & cultural cohesion. The best declared Drama was awarded prize by the local Sarpanch. The Special School also organizes various recreational programmes like song, dance & sports among its mentally retarded & cerebral palsy children for their all-round development. The concerned teachers are responsible to conduct such type of activity as per their monthly plan. The intellectual disabled children of our Special School had also participated in song & dance competition at District level function on the occasion of “World Disabled Day” on 3rd December, 2017 and received awards & certificates from the Collector of Jajpur District Mr. Ranjan Kumar Das, IAS & other Government Officials like Sub-Collector, PD-DRDA, DPC-SSA, DSSO, DCPO, CDMO & DIPRO. The activities of cultural cohesion & religious tolerance have been acclaimed by the district authority & has duly recommended with Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy, Bhubaneswar as its Affiliated and Registered No. 232 vide Letter No: 1352/OSNA, dated: 17.9.2004.

  Special School for the Challenged

SAP is running Special School in its own campus named as “Pramila Devi Special School for the Challenged (MR)” since the year 2005. This is specially meant for demonstrating the Training of Trainers (TOT) in D.Ed. SE (MR) & DVR (MR) courses. Apart from that this school is also meant for rehabilitation of disabled children. Total nos. of 103 MR & CP children (Male69 & Female-34) are studying at present there. The school is providing teaching facilities to MR & CP children in the Pre-primary (3-6 years), Primary-I (6-9 years), Primary-II (7-10 years), Secondary (11-14 years) & Prevocational (14-18 years) classes. The children over 14 years are taking special vocational trainings in Tailoring, Song & Dance, Screen Printing & Book Binding trades for the sustenance of their daily livelihood. The school has also one Therapeutic Clinic in its campus along with First Aid facility. The organization is now running this school from its own source and has already applied to the Govt. of Odisha for recognition & Grant-in-Aid. The new department has been created from the existing Deptt. of Women & Child Development, Govt. of Odisha namely “Department of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities”, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar since 1ST July, 2015 and this new department has considered its proposal for recognition & Grant-in-Aid. The Special School has received Permission from the Department of SSEPD, Govt. of Odisha vide letter no. 8848, on dt. 03.12.2016 and also Recognition from the same department vide letter no. 2249, on dt. 14.03.2018 for imparting education to children with Intellectual Disabilities. Frequent inspections are also going on here by the State & District Inspection Team delegated by the concerned Department, Govt. of Odisha for this purpose. It is under process for Grant-in-Aid.
